T H E   P R O T O C O L

The Protocol is a speculative future design scenario whereby future homunculi are grown from bacterial cellulose according to set emotional data parameters. These posthumans only feel one emotion: happiness. In our scenario, the sample has been infected and developed excessive anxiety – manifested by its distorted body shape. The glitch is thus discarded.

The mannequin is 3D printed and we attempted to grow the cellulosic layers around it to understand if it would be possible to grow clothing to fit the wearer. Instead, the mannequin leaves an imprint in the cellulose once removed.
