Bacterial Sculptures I, II and III was a collaboration with fine art researcher Wayne Binitie. SCOBYs were left growing inside glass vessels and positioned by a melting block of ice in a research exhibition, intentionally producing an interplay between the temporal elements of growth and disappearance.
A note was placed under each vessel to say 'you are loved, you are wanted’. This was in order to interrogate intentionality and emotional, tacit design methods when working with biomaterials.
